As a recruiter I have worked with a variety of candidates with varied skill sets and years of experience over the past 13 months. I am shocked by how many encounters I have had with professional candidates cancelling their scheduled interviews. Regardless if you’re an active or passive candidate, employed or unemployed; cancelling or even rescheduling an interview is not well received by any hiring manager or organization. An interview is a commitment and a potential employer’s first glimpse at your ability to follow through on that commitment. Recruiter tip of the week: be wary of the potential results of cancelling or rescheduling an interview.
